12 Days of Christmas CPI
We have all heard the song, "The 12 Days of Christmas", but how much would all those gifts actually set someone back? According to the 2011 Consumer Price Index, an index of the cost of all goods and services to a consumer, the price if you buy each item each day, meaning each day you buy a partridge in a pear tree fopr eh twelve days, the total cost would be around $100,000. This is up 9.8% from last year. The individual item that went up the most was the French hens which went to $150 from $45(233%). This cost is drastically different from my birth year, 1994, where all this stuff cost only $15,000. So if you really want to impress someone this holiday get them the 12 Days of Christmas, but be aware that it will set you back aways.

Will Spada- Summer
This summer was a relaxing one and I really miss it. I am three months into school now and summer seems like it was ages ago. Over my summer i was unable to find a job which was good and bad. It was bad because I was unable to make any money. The benefit of not having a job is I have lot of free time. I was able to use this free time to train for soccer. I ran the Madison track every morning and shot every day. I also had time to get my summer reading done. This summer was also time for me to send my brother off to college. He attends UMASS Amherst and is loving it there. Soccer started in August and as far as I am concerned, that ended my summer.

Personal Finance- Career Steps
There are many steps to getting a job that we have learned about so far in Personal Finance. First, you must find out what job best suits your abilities and talents. This can be done through many job search quizes such as CareerCrusing.com. After you know what job fits your lifestyle and personality, it is time to go job hunting. You can use many job searching websites to see what jobs are available at the time. After you have applied for a job, you must make a resume. When sending a resume to a company, you should also attatch a cover letter to it before you send it to your possible employer. If your resume is impessive enough, you might get called back for an interview. The interview is very important and a good interview can gaurentee you the job. Those are the steps to obtaining your dream job.

Color Test
This test had me choose what color I liked better between two choices. At the end, the results were somehow used to compile a list of careers or job fields that would suit my personallity. My top color was blue, which is indeed my fvavorite color. Acording to the test, most of the jobs that interest me are in the field of science. Such as atmospheric sciences, ecology, biochemistry, biophysics, biology, and economics. I am good at science and do well in my science classes at school but those are by no means what I would want to persue as a career. Although these jobs aren't what I wanted to do when I get older, the test did say some jobs that do interest me such as business economics and graphic arts technology.

Teens failing in finance
In the article, "Teens failing in finance" it discusses the continuing trend of high schoolers not knowing much about the field of finance including bonds, credit cards, and other things. Kids frequently got questions wrong when asked about what could get the most interest or when your parents stop paying for your health insurance. Personally, I got a 50% on the quiz (6 out of 12). So I can't be a huge critic.

I want school to be over
As the school year comes to an end, I realize that with the great weather comes a desire to not ever want to be in school. I cannot wait until summer. With the beach, sleeping in late, and doing what ever I want. I can't wait until the school year is over.

My time with the Journalism class
When the journalism students walked through the doors to enter our class, i thought that it wouldn't be that bad. I was able to meet people i didn't know and learn things about journalism that i also never knew.Unfortunatly, when the jounalism students came into our class they also brought more work with them. I did enjoy the projects we did with Audacity, but it was much more work than we usually do in our regular, better CTB class. I personally did not mind the work, but I know some others did. As a way to improve the time spent as a combined class, we could get more time to work on projects. The last project we did, the radio advertisement, felt rushed and could have been made better with more time. Other than that the time as a combined class was fun, but i enjoy being a seperate class more.

What helped me with Audacity
I have learned a lot over the course of this year, and I applied all I learned to help me with the Audacity Hanover Park Newscast Project. Most recently, I learned what the six elements of journalism were. They were conflict, timeliness, human interest, prominence, proximity, and consequence. After learning what these elements were, I was able to apply them to the newscast I wrote about the sporting events that happened at Hanover Park this past week. I also, obviously had to learn how to use Audacity. I was taught how to make music fade in and out, record my voice, and even how to add new effect such as pitch and speed and many others. I applied all that I learned to my Audacity project.
